TVP, sometimes called "soya", is made from extracted vegetable protein and processed into different shapes. The form of granules or crumbles is popular because it resembles ground meat, although it can also be found in chunks, strips, slices, etc.
TVP can be found at natural foods stores as well as Asian and Indian groceries.
